@skatting44 @Ethan Chapin was the boyfriend of Kernodle. I think Kernodle was the roommate, not Chapin because I saw this online:

In the affidavit, it stated the whole murder scene lasted about 16 minutes. When they asked him about the roommate coming in contact with the killer, he said he was shocked. My heart goes out to all families that lost their loved ones in such a brutal murder.
