When you watch the news van drive towards your area and, in the next live shot, they've turned around because the weather and conditions are too icy and dangerous. 😂 🥶👏

Round two is here! Stay safe all!

Williamsburg, VA here with several " of snow I shoveled at 7:30, then again at 11 when it turned icy slush and freezing rain and sleet have frozen the bird feeder cover and it's on trees heavy with ice, my three new trees look sad.
I'm carrying my Jack Russell outside and she has pee pads.
Colder temperatures tonight will make limbs and trees fall tonight. No roads plowed due to ice.
      I'm glad I have a generator if /when needed.
     Stay warm y'all!

For those of us experiencing the ice storm in lieu of snow, Georgia is getting hit as we speak. I am in the ground zero portion of it with major impact expected.

So far we are weathering it well. Obviously, I still have electricity and so do my surrounding northeastern counties. Only about 1500 outages so far and we have about .3" of ice in the north. Atlanta has about .1" in the metro so far.

The ice is slowly building and the worst is yet to come for those of us in my area, according to the forecasters (the wedge is worse than expected).

So, if you are in the Carolinas or on the seaboard expecting this, some early hope. You may have some extra time to enjoy the heat and lights.

Huge shout out and thank you to the taxpayers in Alabama and Florida. Our neighbors have sent fleets and fleets of power crews that are literally waiting to help us out. 🙏❤️

@Laura14   A few of our local LES (Lincoln, NE) crews have been sent to North Carolina to help out.

Re: Ice storm 2026 🥶

We have 9 inches so far here in PA. I just measured it. Bitter cold and now the

blowing has started. What a nasty winter so far.

My daughter is in Georgia and is dealing with the ice and very cold temps.

It's still 32° at my house in East Cobb County. We just finished with an hour of really, really heavy rain and some lightning, but no thunder. it's still raining. But not as heavily. I can't imagine if it had been like 28° or 30with that torrential rain.  A friend of mine in Woodstock lost power an hour ago.

We are supposed to get to 22 tonight. Skating rink city.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

When it comes to dog people and winter storms all I can say it thanks to the universe for a fully fenced yard.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
