The business that my SIL worked for suddenly closed its doors in 2010. He knew there were problems because his last two paycheks bounced. He showed up for work one day and the doors were locked and there was a sign on the door saying that the business was pemanently closed. Since then he has received absolutely nothing from them. He was not paid his last paycheck, he has not received a W2. He has received no notice that they filed for bankruptcy. Just nothing. They just closed the doors and walked away as far as he knows. What should he do as far as taxes are concerned? i seriously doubt that any information was sent to the IRS. The home phone for the owner of the business has been disconnected.
