Re: INFO on MamaWick's refuge

As you can see by my posts, I rarely ever post anything, however, do come and read some of the forums, but I wanted to let you know how much I truly love and look forward to your posts and beautiful pictures all the time as they bring a smile to my face!

I'm not that far from you as I live in San Antonio and there are some neighborhoods near me that have deer too and the people love seeing them.

Thank you for all you do to help take care of the beautiful deer and always know I SO enjoy seeing all your posts/pictures!!  Heart

Re: INFO on MamaWick's refuge

@MamaWick  Dear MamaWick, PapaWick, & Cricky Vicky Wicky

What a wonderfully detailed explanation of all you do. Thank you as always for the pictures which bring smiles to my face.   I love the idea of your neighbors and yourselves owning lots to keep them unbuilt but green.  How wonderful, especially since humans have been taking over the natural habitats of those who were there first.

I look forward to following the lives and actions of your herd.  They remind me of the good which can still be found in this world.  Kiddos to you.

Re: INFO on MamaWick's refuge

What a wonderful clever idea...it will save time and energy down the road once all of the questions are answered.  You sure don't have a lot of people living around you and the deer certainly seem to have a lot of trust in you.  I am thrilled to know that hunting deer in your area is illegal.  God Bless MW, PW and the Deer.

Re: INFO on MamaWick's refuge

@MamaWick ---thank you for that info---I don't know why---but just KNEW you lived somewhere like you do---

This year has been a very busy deer season at my house too--we live on a street across the road from 10 acres of woods and then we have a salmon creek running thru our back yard that is the big attraction for critters- so they traipse thru--used to see the coho salmon  in the fall going to their spawning grounds, prob every 2 years or so--unfortunately, I haven't seen any in many years. but do have the bobcats, coyotoes, raccoons, opposums, even otters and a few years ago a bear that got too friendly with my back yard. Even a turkey vulture in the trees one year. and have herons that perch on the back roof too. and of course, the bunnies are around--one day had "Thumper" and "Bambi" at the same time snacking away. So its been quite the wild america here----no fancy plants in my yard either, just on my railed in decks in the back. altho those deer did eat half my lily buds this year-----so thanks again for your info!!! I do appreciate your photos

Re: INFO on MamaWick's refuge

@MamaWick

Thank you for having such a loving and caring heart for these beautiful animals and taking such special care of them....Heart

I live in the suburbs and am near a green belt area and some undeveloped fields and we get a lot of critters even here in the city.....racoons, possums, vultures, hawks, and of course deer, the deer like to come and get a drink from sprinklers.......  But our "favorite" is Mr. & Mrs. Skunk---PHEW!!!  Your right about the destruction of the natural habitat for these critters which have few places to see refuge
