Re: IN-N-OUT BURGER PRESIDENT MOVING TO TENNESSEE

I've eaten at In and out and didn't like it either. My friend who had talked me into going was biting into his with great relish and I'm thinking maybe his tasted better than mine.....  Now, when it comes to TN I wouldn't mind relocating there but they get tornados and also have high crime from what I've read. So...not knowing anyone who lives there I'm sure I would end up directly in tornado alley.  I guess I'll stay put.

@willowbark No.  Tornado Alley is centered where I live.  Oklahoma City.  We're it.

I also love Jollibee (anyone know this one?), for chicken Popeyes and Chick-fil-A!

Re: IN-N-OUT BURGER PRESIDENT MOVING TO TENNESSEE

In the office where I used to work we would have occasional pot lucks with a catered main entree.  A co-worker of Filipino heritage would bring a slow cooker of what he called "Jollibee gravy".  This made sense when you consider that the main couse was an order of Popeye's chicken.  His was some of the best chicken gravy I have ever tasted.

He offered us the recipe which included butter, heavy cream, and soy sauce along with the regular chicken gravy ingredients.  It was not for the health-conscious, but we enjoyed dipping our chicken in a dish of this gravy.

@tansy , we have a Culvers in AL.  They have really good, now get this, shrimp, espeicially for a fast food joint.  We bought a pint of their custard to take home, and while it's good, I don't see sitting in line for it.

i don't go to Chick-fil-A which is big down here.  It's an okay sandwich, but I'm just not into chicken so much.  Don't care for waffle fries either.  For chicken, we usually end up at Zaxby's and I get either a salad or their Bite Size Teriyaki chicken w/fries.  I do really like fried chicken, but only get it once or twice a year either at Publix or Champys, but it'll likely give me heartburn,  Maybe that's why I only get it a couple of times a year.

I used to go to Popeyes, but only when they had the fried crawfish which they don't do anymore.  Now I have nowhere to go for that treat.

@Sooner @willowbark Actually, there is a Dixie Alley which rivals Tornado Alley.  I think it just depends on the time of year.  Dixie Alley gets them a bit earlier than Tornado Alley.  I'm right in the middle of Dixie Alley. I watched one skirt my neighborhood a couple of months ago.

Re: IN-N-OUT BURGER PRESIDENT MOVING TO TENNESSEE

I'd like to try and In-and-Out burger.  Maybe she'll add one here in N AL.  We recently got Whataburger, but I haven't eaten there.  The reviews were terrible and the wait to get your food ridiculously long.

We used to have a Backyard Burgers which I liked, but it closed.  There's one n my hometown that I would usually visit when I went home, but since Dad died and we sold the house, there's been no reason to go there anymore.

Our Smash Burger closed too, but I only ate there once.  I prefer a thick burger.  A little place we go to where I usually get breakfast for lunch has really good burgers.  They're one of those breakfast/lunch places that closes at 2:00 pm, Another Broken Egg.

I thnk it's a good thing that the original founder had a family member who actually wanted to take it over.  And since she's been running it since 2010, seems like she knows what she's doing.  A lot of times when family takes over a business they run it into the ground.  I've wondered if that is what happened to Haan (the steam mop company).  But, I don't know.  I really liked their steam mops.

I don't eat fast food and I gave up eating beef long ago. No loss and I certainly don't miss either one.
