@wilma wrote:All of the listed ideas sound great to me! There are so many needs out there.
I would pay off all the debt my family members have acquired and set up a trust so they get a certain amount each month. (I'm afraid they would go thru a large lump sum too quickly.)
I would give more money to my favorite charities: food banks and animal care societies. Would love to help families, children, and veterans who are struggling to meet basic needs like medical care and housing.
For myself, I would want a house on the beach which has always been a dream of mine.
Hopefully, I would make good investments on my existing income so I can continue to help others for many years to come.
@wilma I have always dreamed of living by the beach, I would buy a vacation beach house all of the family could use....if I was rich enough. California oceanside properties and 15 million and above I'm sure.

Buy some horses and enjoy them until they used up every penny of my new-found largess.

I'd have a house full of Yorkies. And make arrangements for their care.

Tiny house communities for retired, low income seniors.
Possibly with assisted living options, and nearby medical services.
Also, I'm an animal lover. Horses, elephants, all types of animals who need medical help and safety protection.

I've already replied but it just occurred to me that I've always had a fantasy of buying a farm with a big barn and filling it with as many rescue cats as would fit. I'll add that to my list.

A great question @Bonkers1
I would start with St. Jude's, Operation Smile and Feed the Children.
Next would be aiding Best Friends in their quest to be no kill by the end of the year. I would seek out and contribute to smaller rescues across the county, especially those giving loving end of care life to seniors. I would help provide funding to fight animal abuse and surgeries for animals who would otherwise be euthanized.
It would be a drop in the bucket, but a start. ![]()

I would buy some land and try to help out as many cats as I could. Then I would suppott as many local shelters as well as Best Friends. I would buy food for the local food banks and continue to donate as I do now to the shelters with clothes, personal care items, etc.
Then it would be to help the veterans that are needing extra care like T2T, Wounded Warriors, etc.
There is so many things that need help and assistance that I do not think we would ever run out of options, sadly.

If I were rich, I would help dogs and cats. The posts I see on the internet of the abuse makes me ill.
My four dogs and two cats (over a span of years) have changed my life and healed me of so many wounds.
