Re: IF YOU WERE RICH

[ Edited ]

I would donate a lot to my library, animal charities, and help those in my life that struggle. I know several people that work very hard and can't make ends meet.  So many people can't afford all the increasing costs of today's economy.  I hate to hear that seniors skip meds or cut in half to stretch their meds or don't have money to feed themselves or pay for healthcare or rent.

I feel rich already that I have a handful of wonderful friends, a good family, we have our health and can live my life comfortably.  Not rich in wealth, but rich in special blessings in my life.

My priority would be foster children who have aged out of the system.

On a personal note I would move to a larger apartment where we live, toss most of my furniture and start over. It goes without saying that I would set up my sons and their families.

I would, first thing, make sure my 2 adult kids were set up, then I would get myself set up and then look into the various charities.

Same here.  My daughter and her husband are looking for a nice (not huge but comfortable) home near us in a family friendly community. They have a toddler and baby on the way later this summer.

We are going to help with the down payment but I can't afford to just buy them a house.  Everything is crazy expensive!!.

Who knew that half a million would be a very modest home or even a fixer upper?!! I would love to help them more.

I would also love to add more community programs for people of all ages.  There are so many for kids but not enough for young disabled adults who have aged out of the system.

A woman that I'm friendly with has a disabled 20 year old daughter with special needs and can't do much for herself.  She could benefit from some programs for someone like her but there is very little.

I would do things especially geared towards children. They are our future.

I would focus on their education, health care, prevention of bullying, safe living environments, and so much more.

I would set up some kind of college funds for my three grandchildren.  Both daughters are doing well and have homes but I would set up some kind of nest egg for them.

I would get lots of help around my home.

I would donate to furball farms cat sanctuary and an elephant sanctuary in Kenya.

Editing to add I also agree some kind of program to help foster kids when they hit 18 would be awesome.

I always wanted to go to our children's hospital and pay all the hospital bills for kids with cancer and in the burn unit.  I would do it anonymously, just have "my people" call the hospital, get a number and then drop off a check.

I would also take the abandoned, run down properties and fix them up again. I hate to see anything go to waste. I really love the character of old homes, such beauty and craftsmanship you don't see today.

Animal care. Not just cats, but something to help all the animals. I would donate our home to be an animal shelter, for domestic pets and also to care for and protect wildlife. We have 20 acres, I hope they could be developed to care for and provide a refuge for the animals.

I would increase my charitable donations; fix up my 2007 car with new seats, paint and add bluetooth; and maybe purchase a vacation home or move closer to family.  Would also pay off my neice's student debt.

I would sell my apt move to a similar or large unit on the first floor with a patio

All of the listed ideas sound great to me! There are so many needs out there.

I would pay off all the debt my family members have acquired and set up a trust so they get a certain amount each month. (I'm afraid they would go thru a large lump sum too quickly.)

I would give more money to my favorite charities: food banks and animal care societies. Would love to help families, children, and veterans who are struggling to meet basic needs like medical care and housing.

For myself, I would want a house on the beach which has always been a dream of mine.

Hopefully, I would make good investments on my existing income so I can continue to help others for many years to come.
