And then there's the people who should know better who say ""nucular"" when the word is clearly ""nuclear.""

I've heard EXspecially but not ICKspecially.

One that drives me crazy is when people say Antartica instead of Antarctica.

That's how I interpret that pronunciation...they're trying to say ""exspecially"".

I so often see people confuse "advice" and "advise" on here. That is probably the one I notice most.

I take things like this as helpful when I see mistakes I make, so I hope people won't be offended. That isn't my intent.

Good grief, our language is going down the toilet. I recently heard a woman say she "sent the hubs out for milk."

Huh? {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

hey..........hey...........hey..............don't see one thing wrong with hubs LOL...........I use it all the time................................................raven

Sorry raven-blackbird, but I do not like the word "hubs" as a substitute for my husband. Reminds me of tires {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}

How about loose and lose?

Have you heard the House Hunters on HGTV talk about ""betrooms""?

Caramel is pronounced in 2 or 3 syllables. Fine, but I hear camelized as opposed to caramelized. This is done all the time in cooking shows. Is camelized correct? It makes me wonder, is that one or two humps in your pot.

One of the most common mistakes is saying

""anyways""

The word is anyway. There is no ""s"" on the end.

Also saying

""irregardless"".....The word is regardless.
