Whatever it takes to get the viewer attention.......commercials is the primary reason I DVR almost everything....there are very few shows that I watch live.

Re: I swear that most commericals

I put most commercials on Mute. That's how much I can't stand them. But there's one fairly new commercial that cracks me up every time. It's for Fiber One bars. The supermarket stock boy is wheeling a hand truck of Fiber One bars but all you see is a camera shot of him walking from the waist up. All these women are staring below his waist. The expression on his face (which is priceless) shows that he thinks he's, um, studly. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: I swear that most commericals

One of the most disgusting ones on recently: some scantily-clad and oiled-up model chowing down on a sloppy Carl's Jr hamburger, only to be joined by a similarly outfitted Paris Hilton, who eats a piece of food that dropped off the first model's burger and lands on the hood of the car they're shimmying all over.

Many commercials are stupid, irritating and bothersome, but I find the Carl's Jr. ones, with people biting into and chewing and dripping sloppy food all over the place, just awful. I dislike any commercials where people are eating on camera.

I fired off an email a few years ago when Carl's Jr. Ran a commercial that stated something to the effect that "men don't want the same thing every night; wink, wink". They replied that their target demographic was young men 18-25. I assured them I wasn't in that group so I wouldn't darken their door, although there's a location in my neighborhood. I haven't.

I haven't seen this new commercial but if I do, I'll write again. Everyone complains about these tasteless ads but I'm the only person I know that complains to the companies. It's so easy, just go to their website and click "contact us".

I complain, too. I know it can make a difference! Smile

Re: I swear that most commericals

I've complained, too, but all I ever get back is some bland, generic response. The real way to complain is just to not buy that product, shop at that store, eat at that restaurant, etc. Money talks pretty loudly.
