My old washer that I loved gave out a few years ago. I hate my new one, doesn't do the job my old Kenmore did. Hang onto that old one as long as you can.

@Desertdi. Your washer is trying to tell you it's old and wants to retire. Listen to it.

I say a little prayer evertime I put a load in mine. I bought it new in 1995. It's a Kitchenaid and it's NOT a dishwasher.

You dodged a bullet, and I understand feeling blessed. My Whirlpool washer and dryer is still going strong at 22 years. I have no desire to purchase a new one. As others have noted the new ones do not last for ******. I think my brother and SIL are on their third washer and dryer set in the same time frame.

I have rethought my earlier response about my brother and SIL. The first set that they had was used and the washing machine went out. Then the purchased a new washing machine and used with the older dryer, and both that brand new washer and the old dryer went out. The set that they have now is was new and they have had that for I am guessing around 5 or 6 years.
