I really did "eat like a field hand and gobble like a hog"

After nearly 20 hours of not being allowed to eat (I had a minor medical procedure this morning), that's just what I did.

When the medical types let me out of there, hubby and I headed over to the local Denny's and I had steak and eggs, hash browns, toast, and one of my husband's pancakes. This wasn't some little sissy steak, mind you; this was a full-sized (and really delicious) t-bone.

Oh MY, it was good! And not just because, as Ma Ingalls would so modestly point out when her cooking was praised, hunger is the best sauce. No indeed! The eggs were sunny side up and those golden yokes were just heavenly; the hashed browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And I might just kill for another of the buttermilk pancakes swimming in melted butter and drowing in syrup.

I can't get over how spectacularly good the steak was; it was cooked just the way I like it.

I think I must have packed an entire day's calories into a single meal and that's ok; all the blood has rushed to my stomach and I'll just pass out for a while. Sweet dreams to me! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} (Too bad there's not a pig icon.)
