My nephew relinquished his parental rights to a daughter he had with a girl years ago. The girl got married and her husband adopted my nephews daughter. His brother and my sister who is her grandmother have always remembered and included the daughter in family gatherings. The brother is her godfather and is having a graduation ( from college) party for her and sent invitations to all the family. I have never met this girl but my sister and brother have (she lives in another state). My predicament is this. I am not going to the party since it is out of state but I will be sending her a check and card. Do I sign the card with just my first and last name or do I put Aunt?

I would put Aunt and your name. It sounds more welcoming....

How nice of your to acknowledge her graduation. I would go with aunt since that is what you are.

Danky, this is sweet. I'm coming to you next time I need "words."
