Last year my son needed information for his college and he asked my social security number and my address so he could get a government loan. He said my name is not on it but that they needed my social security to look up how much I made since I am disabled.
Tonight he called again and wanted the same information and I told him I did not want to sign my name to anything and he said not to worry he signs my name and that he will be responsible for the bill.
I don't know who to call and ask if I am responsible for this loan....he said it is a government loan like a pell grant.
I am very upset right now because someone posted that the government was taking people's social security if there kids did not pay their loans but I have never signed anything.
Please who do I call or where do I go to read about it and look at the form? My son is really mad because I told him I would not be held accountable for his loan....surely I would have to sign a paper? Thank you for all who want to help me. This has really upset me.
