I would suggest renting some chairs, or even asking the guests to bring any (folding) if they have them. I've been to parties where it was requested that you bring your own if you can. Not required, obviously, but it does help. Makes it much easier eat when you can sit.

I have enough places to sit...I didn't "word" it properly. They will be sitting on sofas and chairs...only 4 seats at my actual table.

I'd suggest candles.

ps If you're not going to use ceramic plates, etc., Costco also has bulk party serving supplies.

years ago I invested in glasses, buffet plates, and smaller dishes, in bulk. This was great. So many parties look great but throwaway dishes and glasses make it look not so great.

Hey you, get off of my cloud...

Something salad.

Use mini muffin tins, spray with cooking oil spray, place Wonton wrap in each, bake at 350 for 5 minutes. (They will be hard sort of like a tortilla shell) Chop romaine in strips, half cherry tomatoes, add diced chicken breasts and toss with caesar dressing and fill cups. It ends up being a hand held small salad. They go over big! And they are super easy.

If you have time to make things yourself, do it. 30 people aren't too many to cook for.

I think your drink selection is fine, but I'd add a Cabernet. If you wanted to have a mixed drink buy coconut and pineapple rum, whiskey and have orange juice and 7 up. You can make all kinds of drinks using that.

I did the same thing. I got mine at Pottery Barn but a friend of mine found some great dishes - not plastic - at a Dollar Store!

Things that are easy to eat while standing or holding a plate on your lap.

Things that don't have be cut with your knife, or make a mess if you have to eat with your hands.

I recently went to a friend's bday party. We all had folding chairs. Lots of food, but hard to eat in this scenario...large pieces of fruit that had to be cut, pieces of turkey and ham that had to be cut. Not easy when you are balancing plate, drink, and not much room.

For those who'd prefer liquor why not do a vodka, rum, or tequila drink in a couple of large pitchers ?
