I really miss my dogs - our last one died 4 years ago. We always had dogs since we got married. Then we decided not to get another because we want to be free to travel. However, with gas so high we can't really travel anyway. So my neighbor's jack Russel is having puppies. She is one of the wire haired ones - like Eddie on Frasier, and so is the sire. I know they are very high energy dogs but we had weimaraners for 25 years - they are large and high energy. I do wonder if I have another puppy hood in me , though at 63 years old. I know what it takes to care for and train a puppy and I wonder if I'm up to it at this point in my life.
PLEASE - do not write to tell me to rescue a pound dog - i am not interested in doing that.I believe in buying a full breed dog so you know what you are getting.
My brother & SIL who just got a Yorkie puppy are encouraging me to get another pup.I just adore this mama dog and I feel i would love one of her puppies to death. We are going to Pa for the summer so we would probably have to come back early to get the dog as they will be ready to place in mid July. That adds a big expense to fly back and get the dog then drive back to Pa then have 2 vehicles to have to drive back to fla. It is a lot to think about.
