I'm really bothered by a product review

I always read product reviews before I make purchases that involve product function or product appearance. Some of the reviews are ridiculous and meaningless- "I hate this ________ because it's ugly"- but the review I read today was well written and the poster described objectively why she was returning the item. Unfortunately, her last statement was (paraphrased) "I apologize for being truthful.....". My question? Why should anyone feel obliged to apologize for stating objectively what they believed? Interestingly, it seemed to me that her problem had been made with an issue of quality control.
