My son's wedding is in 10 days and I think I'm finally ready. Helped my sister pick out a nice outfit for the wedding, including some pretty shoes (I wish I'd picked up a pair for myself) and a bag. Found the exact kind of stockings I've been searching for. Went home, tried everything on to make sure it all worked, and it did.

Then I got the most important thing taken care of--my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. The woman who does this works in a little hole-in-the-wall shop; she does a great job and charges $20 for the whole job. She gave my eyebrows special attention and I was fearing I wouldn't have any left when she was done but then I took a look and...wow! she thinned them out and shaped them beautifully!

I'll be SO glad when this is all over. I know that sounds contradictory but the day before and day of will be really hectic, plus the city of Seattle has decided to embark on a major street project this weekend that will last two years so getting around will be complicated.

I'm so happy for my son, we love his bride, and have gotten to know her parents and like them immensely and that really helps. I'm going to take a deep breath and get through it one day at a time...and when this is all over, I'll have a happily married son, a daughter-in-law we love, and a new set of in-laws we get along with very well. So it's all worth it.
