I love being a teacher! Besides a mommy and a wife, it's the only thing I can ever remember wanting to do and I think I'm really good at it. I think I've touched a few thousand lives in a meaningful way, some more than others, and many of those have really had an impact on my own. Someone started a thread today that put me on the defensive and put a whole lot of negativity out there and that's really unfortunate. Teaching is among the greatest professions. Every day, no matter how tired or down I might be, I walk into a world full of young, creative people and their energy and enthusiasm for life is contagious. If you're thinking of a career where you can make a difference, think about teaching, but just know that it's not for the faint of heart. Teaching is more work than you might think. There are bound to be days when you wonder why you chose to live in such a crazy world, but luckily, those days are the exception and not the rule. We teachers have a saying about our life's work, "It's the hardest job I ever loved."

Namaste,
