I know I should be grateful but Really,,,,,?!!!!!!!!

I've been home from work ( cold/virus) the past few days and have posted and enjoyed reading the replies....... Thought I would get your thoughts on something else. I know it might sound trivial but here goes.......

When you swift/ and or sweep your floors , do you make systematic piles  so as not to drag the debris from one part of the room to another.?  I do and my DH does not.  He drags the crumbs from the kitchen across the family room floor or vice versa  to make one pile.     We have hard wood floors in the family room and ceramic in the kitchen.   Our sweet little four legged daughter sheds so the couch and floors get cleaned every morning.   I tell him he is dragging hair and debris across the rooms and it's easier and quicker to make piles in a couple areas and vacuum up as you go. He says he  repeats the process several times so he'll get everything eventually .  We have a central vacuum so it's pretty easy to sweep up and vacuum in sections.   I keep my mouth shut if I'm home and he's helping, but it annoys me   He is retires and I am not, so he will sometimes offer to help out a bit. It's one of those cases where I welcome the help but.........  He's also known to clean the bathroom floor with the same rag he wipes the sink with.😱....rests the dirty broom and swifter on the living room or family room Pottery Barn rugs😁  Sometimes just easier to do it yourself. 😜

No one ever does it the way we would.

I think the title of your post says it all.

You should be grateful.

Well, @pggoody

If it was me, I'd welcome the help and look the other way. I know he's not doing it the way you like, but there are a lot of women out here that get no kind of help from their significant others. My DH helps me when he can and I don't say a word.

I make a few different piles when sweeping, but if my husband wanted to sweep he could make as many piles as he wishes Smiley Happy   I also don't see what's wrong with using the sink rag on the floor.  As long as he's not doing it in the other order!

I wouldn't chastise you, as I don't think that's right.

But I understand your frustration, also.    To be honest, I am like others here in that I would rather just do something than accept his offer for help.

My husband offers to help in numerous ways but much of the 'around the house' stuff I KNOW that I'd just have to re-do it, anyway.   I'm more of a 'do it right the first time' person and he's more of a 'just knock it out so you can check it off in the 'I did it' column'.   (I think that's a bit of a guy thing, anyway) Smiley Happy

the beauty of those dyson vacuum sticks......no need for piles of anything. just sweep and go.....hardwood floors, ceramic tile, marble, or carpeting.
