I ususally prefer to keep my private life to myself. But I find myself asking now.

This isn't about me or a sympathy call. It is to request that anyone so inclined say a prayer for my DIL and my son and his children. My DIL had a young son when she married my son. My son also has a son from his first marriage and together they share my twin grandaughters.

Her son is in the Army and he is married and has two baby girls. The live in Utah and we are in California. Their youngest baby was born with a rare liver disease and had to have a liver transplant when she was about six months old. She almost rejected it a few times and has spent most of her life in the hospital. He also was deployed to Afghanistan last year and came home safe and sound. He has been in our family since he was a little boy and he IS our grandson.

Last night I got a call from my son telling me that this young man (25) was killed in a wreck on his way home from work. There was an accident ahead of them on the freeway and a semi pulled over in his lane to dodge the earlier wreck and Brandon was in a little sub-compact that went under the back of the semi at full speed. He was killed instantly.

They are in the process of getting ready to drive there for the funeral. We are sick. Brandon was a lovely young man, husband and father. My heart breaks for our DIL, my son and my grandaughters. They loved their brother and are 16, never having such heartache before. They were hysterical last night. Please, if you are so inclined, add him and his family to your prayers. It is not necessary to respond here. Just quietly...add him to your prayers, if you would. Thank you.
