Re: I got a totally empty package...

@Nonametoday  Definitely frustrating situations, sorry.

And if you do contact Amazon again about it I recommend not contacting on a weekend.

Re: I got a totally empty package...

We ordered some light bulbs from Amazon recently and they were supposed to be delivered in two days.  Well they were "delayed" and once that happens, I will reorder and cancel the first order.  You should have canceled the order when it was taking an extra long time.

The second order arrived on time last night.

@jlkz Excellent post!  Not just for the OP but for everyone who finds themselves dwelling on the small unjust things going on in our lives.  I have to remind myself that it's not worth harming my health over a petty injustice.

Re: I got a totally empty package...

That happened to me.  However, I was outside and the driver handed me the package.  I immediately said there's nothing in here and asked him to open in while I took pictures.  Yep...empty.  He documented it and I called Amazon the next day.  They saw the documentation and sent out a new order.

@haddon9

Thank you so much !

one of the last major projects I was involved in was a two-year career center for a Philadelphia railroad that was going to be divided between 2 other East Coast railroads.

After folks attended an in-depth two-day career workshop, they got assigned a dedicated counselor.  Working one-on-one with my clients, I spent a lot of time mirroring back to them what I saw and heard them saying: nonverbals and verbals.  It took practice but they "grew"  new habits which helped them get job offers ultimately.

One fellow in particular kept dredging up "injustices" so I finally said " Okay, let's compare experiences so we can see who suffered more.  However, this will waste valuable counseling time and delay progress."

I accepted his apology and we worked together and he made a lot of progress.  He did land a very good job !

Re: I got a totally empty package...

I posted this for the irony of the company wanting $1 to send back an empty bag.  There are a bazillion posts here over a not-significant period of time discussing the ineptness of companies, the postal system, UPS, etc.  This one was $1 about an empty bag and ironically who is going to send back a bag for $1 that is empty.

Re: I got a totally empty package...

@jlkz You're welcome!

I find that sometimes when I'm feeling sorry for myself I need to be reminded just how some people have it.

Yesterday I was scrolling though some YouTube shorts and a video of a woman came up who had something terrible happen to her.  She is a farm wife who had a very bad accident happen to her ankle.

This was in addition to her being pregnant.  After over a year of multiple surgeries, helping on the farm and having a new born infant, she had gotten news from her doctor that her ankle replacement was being rejected and it looks like she has to start all over.  I really felt bad for her.
