I have a chiropractor appointment scheduled at the end of the month for maintenance. The same week I've got my yearly mammogram appointment. Not sure what to do, but thankful I've got time to decide yet. I suppose I'll keep the appointments unless the virus is known to be in my area.

I got my reminder card that it was time to schedule my yearly eye exam. The practice has a number of doctors, so the waiting room is always full. No way I’m going to sit in there since I don’t have to. I’m sure they will understand why they haven’t received a phone call from me.
Likewise, I’m due to have a blood draw for my primary care doctor. I went in on Tuesday for my six month check up and specifically asked in advance if I needed to have blood drawn, so that I would know to fast. Person on the phone said no, but the NP said yes once I was there. I originally planned to do it the next day, but after thinking about it have decided to wait until after this Coronavirus crisis is over. I think I took enough of a risk going Tuesday for the check-up.

My inclination would be to cancel things like dental cleanings or eye exams that are scheduled during the next six weeks. I've developed an ear infection, and luckily the doctor called in my prescription because he didn't find it necessary for me to come in. Unfortunately, CVS doesn't have the medication so it will be well over 24 hours before I can start treatment.

Before I could call Kaiser to cancel my physical, I received both a call and an e-mail suggesting, among many things, to avoid coming in for something routine.

I am cancelling hair and routine health appts. The more we stay in, the better off we will ALL be.

@I am still oxox I believe I just heard a doctor say if you have elective medical tests, procedures, etc., to postpone them.

I went to Kaiser on Wednesday in the morning for a mammogram.
By afternoon, I had an email online from my doctor that it was negative and I'm fine.
I have NEVER gotten results so quickly. Guess they are not being overwhelmed with coronovirus cases to the point where routine visits are sidlined.
This is in Northern VA - where the governor has declared an emergency and closed all schools etc. etc.

It's much more likely that many women postponed routine mammograms, @Isobel Archer.

@Isobel Archer That’s excellent. They always give me my results right away. Although there wasn’t a virus going around when I had mine.
Good to know your area seems very safe.

If that's the case, it's a shame. Cancer can be fast growing and much more serious than the vast majority of this virus' manifestations.
