@Anonymous032819 ............keep the grass and weeds short, install some motion detectors that light and some may even sound an alarm. Paint over the graffiti. I have always thought that certain graffiti was signals to other druggies (safe place, not safe, etc).
These things will also help with the sale of the house. Good luck and be cautious.

@Anonymous032819 - If you're thinking about buying a home, there are 100% financing programs available out there. These programs allow the seller to pay closing costs so it is possible to purchase a home with minimal funds out of pocket.

If you are retired, no kids, grand kids, and live where cost is high, and in a bad neighborhood, why not move to a new state, where cost of homes are less? Some can not do this because of family, and not able to get money out of house ,that one has in it.

Some Veterinarian offices have bulletin boards allowing you to post a note asking if anyone has or knows of an apartment to rent that would allow cats.
Just a side note, fence was tagged and you found evidence of people being in the area, it was their safe zone. They are familiar with the comings and goings of people in the area. They want no trouble in the area. Maybe you should just leave what is remaining of the tag on the wall. You feel threatened and want to move and should do so with those feelings. I am not telling you anything or suggesting anything, it is just an observation.
Good luck.

Do you live in Chicago? This would be pretty typical.

Call a few realtors - and get pre-qualified to see what price range u can afford. Gated tracts are the way to go --- depending on the area u want to live in. Life in America has changed!!!!

I am 48, still working, never married, no kid(s).
Retirement is still a good 20 years away.
