Not sure if this will help but this is what I did with my grandma when she just kinda stopped cooking for herself

I went over on a Saturday, did her shopping for her and then spent the whole day cooking all kinds of stuff.............I had spent a small fortune LOL on Tupperware divided trays with the tops.......you could freeze them and they were microwave safe....I took over my seal a meal too for anything I made that had pasta........I cooked her a weeks worth of meals and froze them in the divided trays............All she had to do was take them from the freezer and plunk them in the microwave..........breakfast, lunch and dinner.

She was getting a good meal and a balanced one......we had a great visit and shared something we both loved, cooking......I got the inside scoop on some of her recipes I so wanted to know..........it was a win, win all the way around....................................raven

Great story Smile I knew the little old lady who lived in the house we eventually bought when her family found a nice nursing home for her. I caught her at dinner one time... she was eating what she told me was her regular evening meal, saltines and milk. I called her granddaughter right away.

Re: I Need Some Input On What Is A Fair Rate

The more I'm thinking about it, I would probably visit local friendly (possibly family-owned restaurants) restaurants in person. Never know which owner(s) also have senior parents/grandparents, and would be happy for one of their employees/family members to deliver two meals a day. Lunch and dinner. In disposable take-out containers, so no need to wash dishes, etc. You could sign a 'paper', stating how many daily meals a week and the cost, etc. That way, there wouldn't be any misunderstanding. Sometimes folks are 'just plain nice', and would be happy to help O/P out. Smile

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
