Voots, sorry about the late response I do not get on much lately . Sounds like you have a lot of fun things lined up to do this summer. Have fun while you are able to get out and do things. Not much long walking for me since the broken femur still have pain and probably always will have As  my motto is if I am able to get out of the bed in the morning I will be OK. . Just don't have much of an appetite anymore  and I can't loose anymore weight      or I will loose my KOPS rating (keep off pounds)  and have been giving a lot of my clothes away to some friends at  the club. Never in my life would I have thought this would happen to me who used to weigh 225 lbs and loved to eat and have a few (or more) cool ones too boot.  Only cool things I drink now are water and 7 up (boozeless)ha ha I am down to 121 lbs and as I  stated can't loose anymore per Doc.  Nothing like rambling on   Sorry about that. My family are all getting along well now so that is a blessing.

Every one have a good rest of summer   miss you "guys"

Nafey, sorry about your pain. It sounds like you have a great attitude about it and life in general. Is KOPS a Weight Watchers thing?  I never reached my goal so I wouldn't know, lol. I am heavy right now. Have to get motivated because I don't like the way I look. But right now eating what I want is making me happy.

My son's wedding was lovely, and surprisingly I had a great time. I thought I might have a bout of social anxiety, but I was relaxed and in the mood to socialize.  It was very hot but sunny.  Thank goodness for AC!  They are married, and I'm ecstatic about that!

I guess I am retired now. My new district decided to cut the position. Our state is having budget issues and cut funding to towns after school budgets were set. I am sad as I enjoyed working there, one reason being low case loads. That will change now that they cut a position.

We we are going to NH this weekend. Had a problem with construction - after they dug the foundation it filled with water after a heavy rain. They couldn't pour until it dried out. Hopefully I will see a foundation when I get there.

I miss everyone too!  Post if you can! Hoping bunny is okay.

Howdy Voots  Hope all went well in New Hampshire for you . To answer your  question KOPS is a part of TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) and stands for keep off pounds sensibly. I couldn't have lost my 102 lbs without them and the help the gave me. No special diet just sensible eating and lots of goo encouragement and friendship too.

A very sad day for me last         month I had to put the Queen down , when she could hardly breath anymore and coughed all night  when we went to bed( congestive heart failure is what the Doc said).   I knew it was the right thing to do I miss her so much . Loosing Mr H almost a year ago and now her......  trying not to cry as I write this (not good for my key board :smileySmiley Happy    Some good news is DGS is starting college  in the next         week  and he will be going for 2 years to complete his career choice to continue in avionics. He is going to be busy, working on week ends and school  32 hrs a week. Looking forward to fall this heat is for the birds!!!

Best wishes to all

Hugs, Nafey!  My heart breaks for you. I had to put my beloved Jasmine down because of congestive heart failure too. May Queen rest in peace and wait for you at the rainbow bridge.

That is great news about DGS. He deserves the best after his devoted service to us and our country.

The foundation to our house in nh was poured. They are supposed to do the garage this week.

We we had a heat wave but are getting a break for a few days.  Not as hot as CA though.  I think I too will enjoy fall being retired.

I probably should look into TOPS.  I think they are in my area.

Well, Nafey, I will be rooting for you from across the country.  ❤️

Thank  you Voots for the kind words re the "Queen" .My last visit to the Bone Doc was sorta OK due to the fact that he said when  I asked him when will the pain go away and he looked at me and shook his head and couldn't give me an answer which is almost like saying never, it is not excruciating but I am aware of pain  about a 4 or 5  and sometimes  at         night it is worse.  Yes please look into a Tops club it was the wisest thing I ever did , and a person does not have to jump through  hoops just wise food choices discussed  and most of all        caring women to help  you get to your  weight goal.Thank you to for                                        the nice thing's  you said about my DGS he will be going to college 32 hrs a week and working part time as well .I sure hope he will be able to accomplish   his dreams. He will be one busy "boy" that is for sure.

Best of luck on your NH construction

Hope your pain has been bearable, Nafey. We are in nh until tomorrow. The garage foundation was poured. Today DH and I worked on a stonewall that the ice damaged. DH did most of the work and is pain right now. I have a part time job next year. The same district I worked in last year but a different school. Wednesday I go in to meet the principal and team leader. School starts for teachers Aug 29. Hope you have a good week, Nafey!

Voots I think being a teacher                      would be such a rewarding profession , to start young lives on the right track and have a good influence on them.    I remember mine just like it was yesterday and I have such great memories of them.  Sorry about the bold print I only ment to highlight your nick name.I am too lazy to retype it.(bad girl that I am)  Had a moment the other day .\ made myself a fried egg sandwich with cheese on it and when I was almost done I put a piece of the egg aside for the Queen and then realized she was not here to share it with . Wow took me a while to regroup myself ( after a few tears). I have moments too re Mr H but we both knew it was only a matter of a short time for him  I was more prepared for his loss. Tell your Mr H to be careful and not over do. . We have had 2 fires recently in the mountains today it has burned over 6000 acres as of about an hr ago. I can hear the planes flyng over the house with water bombs as I type  not too  far from me but not close enough to worry yet. Have a good evening

I was so excited to find this thread. Nafey...so sorry about Olson the Queen. Sydnie finally got a puppy.. She is a mini schnauzer , 7 months old , named Pepper we are all very attacked to her. I remember that Mr H passed ...how fast time flies.  I am so sorry that you had such a bad injury that remains so painful. ((((Many hugs))). My mom had a hard time eating as she got older....she finally just ate what she felt like.,if I were near you, I would bring you some meals.

Voots, some changes in your life too...if when you retire, I think you will enjoy it.,it is the best thing I ever did.

Sydnie is entering middle school...she is going to a magnet school for the arts. She is still passionate about dance...spend 10 hours a week there. My other grands are all growing up too. They range in age from 3 to 10. We continue to winter in az. My rheumatoid disease is getting more challenging, but I still stay busy.

i do miss my hutchmates...chat with bunny on occasion.

((((hugs))))

Nafey, thanks for your thoughts on teaching. It becomes part of who you are. That's why I'm having a hard time retiring.  You must miss DH and the Queen terribly. Maybe you could get a cat. A little easier to care for than a dog but still good company. That's awful about the fires. My niece's DH is a firefighter in CA and probably was battling those fires. They live in Santa Maria but he works state wide when necessary, which seems like all to often. Hope you stay safe!  ((((Hugs))))

Good to see you post, Syds. Glad you are enjoying retirement. I am glad I will be part time. It'll ease me into retirement. That is great that Sydnie is going to an arts magnet school. I bet she'll be very happy there with a creative outlet. Will you be able to save on dance lessons?

I miss bunny, Marp, and the rest of the hutchmates. Hope all is well.

Syds                     Thank you for the thought of bringing me some meals. Cooking for one is terrible especially when you don't really feel like eating much anyway. Yes I miss                            the Queen and Mr H everyday it seems like only yesterday I had them both here with me. Good to hear Sydnie is still going strong in                 her dance classes. You must be so very proud of her. I understand about health issues and some days I just don't want to get out of bed but I know that in order to keep going I must, so I do.

Have a great week end Toodles, Nafey
