@Goodie2shoes I am an easy going person and saw and posted on your Valentine thread. I enjoyed your post and had something to add. I just read your thread about knee replacement. I did not read nor reply because I had nothing to contribute about knee replacement. I don't know why people feel it is ok to be ugly to others. Just because you are not face to face is no excuse to deliberately hurt someone's feelings. If I read a thread and disagree I simply pass over it. Keep posting, don't let anybody steal your joy if you enjoy posting.

To answer your question about other forums. . .yes, I've particated in a few. I think QVC's forum is more moderated than the others, though. I think any time we're posting online there's a potential for misunderstandings, but seems like there's more conflict here than what I've experienced on other forums.
I've been on here a while, sometimes more frequently than others. I'm always learning something new here--whether it be a recipe, a product or tv show/movie recommendation, or current events. I've found that the Q forums change over time as it seems the expectations change with updates.
One thing I've learned recently is that if people don't want others chatting about a topic, they just throw in a few threadbombs like political or argumentative comments or they might even post an accusation (like racism when it isn't even there) seemingly in order to have a thread deleted. It's one thing to disagree, but another to intentionally post things that one knows will bring down a thread and ruin the conversation for everyone else.
I keep posting, though, and I appreciate having the opportunity to read about other members and their thoughts. I consider everybody here a friend and look forward to posting more with you @Goodie2shoes 😊

@Goodie2shoes , Thank you for starting threads and posting! Nice to be getting to know you. 😉
I post on my newspapers' comments section, and it's pretty free-wheeling, to say the least, but there are so many posters and the comments fly by so quickly, there's really no time to dwell. There is definitely some "snark" but also thoughtful discussions.

@Goodie2shoes I thought your knee replacement , victim comment was humerus. With writing I guess it's hard to judge intent sometimes. People can't see your expressions, etc.
I'm learning also, and started posting in forums to learn how to use my new I pad. I've enjoyed learning from people plus I can have conversations. (I'm hearing disabled).
Keep posting, there are a lot of nice people here!

Humor is in short supply, I think it goes unrecognized for it's rarity. We need it desparately to counteract the constant tearing down, criticizing, and bullying that is the national pasttime. We all are misunderstood sometimes. If you think that happened, just clarify and move on. We all understand how that happens.
There will always be some posters that cannot accept your truth or won't be truthful themselves. It's just the way it is. Just be you. You are very good at making yourself understood when asked.

that you really have to be careful what you say on this forum. I am a fun person overall and as I get older I appreciate life more and more so I don't feel that everything I say has to be serious if you know what I mean. I believe in adding humor when you can because you are not promised the next day or hour.
My last 2 posts, one about Valentines day and the other about Knee replacement "victims" (which I am one of them) was taken differently by some unfortunately because it was not meant to degrade others. I realize that everyone has there own opinion about what is said and the way it is said but wow some take things much to serious. I think I will just read and not comment. This is the only forum I read, do you belong to other forums? Same issues? Just wondering.
Yes, attacks have been discussed here before. I've experienced it myself. Fortunately, there are only a few who do it.
I'm not familiar with your previous posts.
To answer your question, my training ground (lol) was Twitter that began over 12 years ago. You either understand the psychology behind the attacks, become hardened, or drop out.
The attacks can be vicious and often come from those overly sensitive, easily insulted, and offended, and take things personally even if the comment does not apply or is directed at them. Sometimes, it's projection. Sometimes, those attacks make them feel morally self-righteous, superior. Still, it can be somewhat disappointing when you see who is directing a harsh attack or being sarcastic and snarky.
You must understand why these attacks occur. Think about the real motive behind the attack, not the reason the attacker claims.
I find attacks typical across the board, not only here and on Twitter, also on other websites where I read and post. Sometimes moderators remove them rather quickly on independently run websites. Violators are banned. Twitter and QVC leave quite a few on.
Of course, I expect some to be offended by what I said here.
My advice to you is don't let them get you down, work on not being overly sensitive and offended yourself by what others say to you or about you. Their opinion of you has nothing to do with your worth, how good a person you are, or the value of your posts. Continue posting if you enjoy doing it.

The only board I post on is QVC's. It's basically a shopping board so I find it enjoyable.

@Goodie2shoes You can chime in as you see fit. If you've been here for any amount of time though you begin to find out who the aggitators are, those who love to be cruel, write rude comments, love to 'pick' at others no matter what they may say. Some here seem to want to thrive on being mean and they prove it often. Best suggestion when you see/read posts by these types don't engage as they don't stop.

You sure are right about those who find ways to shut down threads @wildcat fan . I love it when pictures and comments are posted about famous women who might be royalty or in the political arena. Comments move away from their clothing to their spouses, family or idealogy. Even threads about craft stores or fast food joints get targeted by those who have to tell us they boycott certain places. Okay, fine but don't shut down the thread for those who want to talk about photo albums or Caesar salads!

@fthunt wrote:@KingstonsMom Yes........and that too. One of my post was just a reply about food - so I wrote about Wegman's nice Asian section...........WHAM the reply was what I had against Asian people. (can you believe)
#2 Again just a reply, I wasn't the OP. Re: certain fish from QVC - I just didn't like that kind of fish - bought to try - threw out several prices. WHAM - we struggle with our $$$ and you throw food out!
What? Should I keep it in my freezer for.........4 ever?
Got to walk on Eggs around here.
@fthunt ...Careful there, walking on eggs, don't want the naysayers to get you. ![]()
