What a touching, emotional and loving story!  I'm so glad that you will have such warm and loving feelings about your ex.  Most of us, at best, have to do a lot of deep searching to find good feelings about ex husbands.

First of all, sorry for ALL of your losses.  Second, I think women tend to be caretakers and do the right thing all the time instead of seeking out their own happiness.  Many many years ago a wonderful man proposed to me but it would have meant me moving to another state.  My entire family told me I was the glue that held my disfunctional family together and that I needed to stay where I was.  I took their advice and regret it to this day.  Thirteen years ago I moved across the country to get away from my family and live the life I want without the guilt they placed on me every day.  I've never been happier.  I recently looked up the man that had proposed to me and found he passed in 2014.  Women, make your own happiness!

Wow - that's a touching and heartbreaking story.  Life is fragile.  Enjoy it while you can because we have no guarantees for tomorrow.  I learned that very early in life and continue to.  My entire family with the exception of my mother has now passed, as did my first fiance, most of my best friends and some acquaintances. Here one day and gone the next.  Hard to fathom - I am still reeling myself from a recent death of one of my co-workers.  A beautiful vibrant woman who passed last weekend with cause of death still "pending". Unfortunately, it is harder on those of us who are left here to mourn.  I hope you find some comfort through what will probably be a difficult holiday season. Take comfort in the fact that you and he reconnected and know that he will watch over you and that you will find happiness again. I am very sorry for your loss.
