@77yangyaThe CDC has issued a warning for a rare side affect that could happen primarily to younger men.  Though younger men are not the only group who have had myocarditis and pericarditis.  New guidance was issued as of last Wednesday.  These are inflammation types of the heart.  They do show the age cohorts, but I forget.  If you are interested in reading more about this and want to know the signs and symptoms to look out for, just head of to the CDC website for more info.

@gertrudecloset, but there were no lasting problems. And also, far, far more people have that side effect from Covid itself.

If someone refused to be vaccinated for whatever reason, that's their choice.

@suzyQ3not right now they say most people recover well from this inflammation.  Regardless, the more you know, the better so you can make an informed decision.  I do agree that there should be no vaxx or the not going to vaxx agitating posts.  It's no one's business.

I do think it's okay to cheer on people who are wavering, because I happen to think that the vaccine is essential to our health and well-being. I also think it's important to counter misinformation. Beyond that, there is nothing I or anyone else can do. @gertrudecloset

@suzyQ3It's not our place to do anything but inform (if we have information to share).  Cheering or not.  It simply means letting others do what's best for them.  It's their life.  They have to live it.  Cheering? Yip, yip hooray cheer?  No, just mind my own business and don't ask questions that don't matter to me from people I don't know about my personal health.

@gertrudecloset, informing is my way of cheering. I see nothing wrong with that. People can take it or leave it.

@gertrudecloset    For Pete's sake, I didn't ask her any personal questions other than what are you waiting on? If one makes the statement  that they may or may not get vaccinated they are inviting the question why not? If they don't want to answer this then keep this information to themselves.

Did you get an answer @50Mickey ?  Not yet, huh?  For Pete's sake you put the poster on the spot and want to hide behind I meant no harm?  Uh ok.

It was announced today that the research shows that these vaccinations will very likely produce immunity to Covid for several years. A day or two of fever and a headache is really nothing compared to what could happen to you if you are not vaccinated and contract Covid. Listen to the scientists.

@50Mickey  Your post is not vaxx shaming, you're sharing facts and information. Your last sentence proves that.

She shared an opinion @decaf .  Asking why someone has not had a vaccine is intrusive.

Yeah well that's what I did.  I added information that wasn't considered.  Physcians should be doing this.  No one should be asking others why they have not received this vaccine.

If it's any indication of what's going to go on in the general public; what has happened on this forum is a poor reflection on how we deal with this @suzyQ3 .

@gertrudecloset  "If you want to beat a dog, you'll find a stick". An old Dutch saying.  Sorry, but that's what I think you're doing here.

I also see her post as only positive, cheering someone on who's been on the fence for quite a while, concerned about the facts and science only.

On TV I haven't seen one hospitalized, unvaccinated patient tell the public  NOT to get vaccinated. EVERY single patient I've seen says  "I'm lucky to be alive, you don't want to go through this hell or put your family through this, get vaccinated".  Thank god for those messages too.

I thought you are supposed to sit for at least 15 minutes so someone can treat you incase you fall ill.   Your reaction is nothing to laugh about, something serious is going on in your body.

You need to think about the 2nd shot is it really worth it?  I would consult an expert and not someone who tells you it's like mandatory.

Please be careful of these adverse effects.  Every person is different.

@Mistreatedbycs

I’m certain @77yangya  thought this decision over very carefully before getting the first vaccination.

This fear mongering is not helpful.  You have no idea what is going on in her body, and to say “something serious is going on in your body” with no real information is veering off into the land of giving medical advice.

I think some of these side-effects may be the result of the power of suggestion.  Why people insist on comparing symptoms is a mystery.

I haven't had my shots yet , and i am glad to hear people's experiences , if  I should have some of these symptons , i  will remember what others have said , and know it will probably pass. Doctors aren't very forthcoming on what to expect.

@77yangya @MW in Iowa  I had two Moderna shots. I had no side effects from shot #1.  About 12 hours after shot #2 I started to get slightly nauseous, an hour later I began getting the chills. Then I had a headache and slight fever.  All this lasted less than two days.  I remembered what I had heard someone say - it's good to have signs the vaccine worked!  It was well worth it to know I was protected.

Re: I Know This Was Mentioned Before

From what I read, at least in my state, anyone who wants the vaccine has access to it now, they can go to almost any pharmacy or several fire stations or dr office and get the vaccine free of charge. So anyone who has not had the vaccine at this point probably has decided they don’t want to get vaccinated. End of story. I will not nag anyone into getting it if they feel strongly about not getting it.

@lovesrecess  I hate to have to break it to you, but your assertion is wrong.  Some people may be waiting just a little while longer before they get it.  I've heard some say they will get it ~ just not right now.

Just because some haven't had it yet doesn't mean they won't get it eventually.  Unless of course, you can tell the future.
