I Have A Stinky Question

My son has a dog...who loves to go for walks...I pick up the grands at the bus stop...that means twice I take the dog with me...and he ALWAYS takes a "poo" on the street along the way....I take store bags to pick up the mess...but I am left holding the smell while I wait for the bus and, of course, have to carry it back home....

I find it disgusting...but I feel sorry for the dog so I take him...Is there a better way to deal with this....I would never leave the mess behind....I can't leave the dog in the yard as he manages to escape no matter how many times my son has blocked exists... the dog makes a new one.....a real Houdini that dog is...

Thanks for any hints you might share....
