I was a Spectrum customer for many years, I switched to Verizon in March it was a little cheaper (the funny thing is Spectrum when I called to cancel was willing to lower my bill after I called time after time to have my bill lowered and it fell on deaf ears). So Spectrum sends me an email, I can get the services I want for about $167. I am currently paying $210 with Verizon. My question is, is Verizon willing to work with customers in lowering their bill? Does it pay for me to tell Verizon about Spectum's offer?

Yes if you are a customer in good standing - never late paying your bill. HOWEVER, you have not been w/them long enough to negotiate anything.
Does it pay for me to tell Verizon about Spectum's offer?
It won't hurt. Send Verizon a copy of your Spectrum email as proof during your phone call. At least you tried.

Seriously doubt it

After researching other options, we stayed with Spectrum. It was the best price for choices we desire.

i have had Verizon FIOS since 1995. I would not switch to any other company. They have treated us very well. Price for what we need is pretty good. I still have a landline into the house,internet,t.v..all with verizon fios
we have had dish, cable over the years and have found verizon the best for us.
you can give Verizon a call see if they will match what spectrum is willing to sell it for.

yes they will ... I told Verizon about an offer I had received from their competitor in my area, Comcast and told them in all honesty I had to change for my budget. Verizon also offers no senior discounts, so before I also told them I had been a loyal customer for over 25 years. I got the right representative who arranged things to fit my budget and I signed a new contract for two years. They were NOT anxious to do it and I did dump a few stations I never watch. BUT ... the offers were so incredibly financially different NEXT TIME I will just switch from one company to another ... doesn't cost me anything so knock yourself out who wants my business. BTW i do NOT get premium channels ... there are like three levels of BASIC cable !! Can't make it up ... my bill went from $200 plus to $169 ...

I called today trying to get my bill lowered. While they don't want to lose me as a customer, they don't have any promotions to offer me at this time.

I negotiate with them whenever the time is up on the last deal I made with them....but I have been with Verizon for over 50 years when it was formerly Bell Atlantic that merged with GTE to create Verizon.
