I have a bone to pick with Winter as this is the first day of Winter, I don't like you never have, never will. When I was young my mom would throw me outside to play in the snow, I didn't  like being wet and cold, call me a snowflake I don't care! Living in Nassau County in New York I feel Winter intrudes on Fall's time, Winter seems much longer than 3 months. Winter also stays at the party too long, it is suppose to leave around March 21, but stays well into April when it should be Spring. Now for you Twilight Zone fans it reminds me of the episode with the mannequin who didn't know she was one, going past her time as a live person and cheating the next mannequin out of a day!

I am right there with you.  Living in Michigan I hate the snow, cold and dreary winter weather.  I hate being cold.  Right after a snow the world may look pretty but not for very long.

My husband on the other hand loves cold and snow.  We may retire on separate areas of the country LOL.

Re: I Hate Winter

[ Edited ]

@Jordan2    I hear you.   I live in SoCal and our mornings  have been chilly 39-42 and afternoons 55-60 abd I'm freezing all the time.   I know some who live in real cold areas, are probably laughing, but this is cold for us.  Bottom line, I hate Winter too.  I grew up in NE PA and I hated winters then too.  I especially hated when the snow would melt and it would get slushy and dirty.   I also hated the long gray gloomy days.  Uggh

I hate winter also.

I lived up north (Boston and New Jersey) till I was 13 so I remember cold, snowy, LONG winters.  My family then moved to Atlanta.  I'm still here.

It's supposed to be 10 here Friday morning and a high Friday and Saturday of 24.  That's really, really low for us.  Fortunately, no snow or ice in the forecast.  Cold rain here tomorrow. It is gloomy and rainy just about every day.

I'm preparing for this like it's the apocalypse.  I am doing my grocery shopping and few other errands this morning and don't plan to leave the house again till Saturday.  This from the girl who doesn't like to stay home all the time.  I love being out and about but that's too cold for me.  And, I take blood thinners and that makes you feel colder.

Counting the days till spring.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I don't mind it.  The very cold weather kills a lot of nasty insects we'd otherwise have in summer. But I'd rather not go outside in the cold and snow; if I could stay inside for December - February, I'd be happy.

When I sit inside and look out my kitchen window and the tree branches are dusted in a certain way and the sun glistens on the snow on the ground, I think -- oh, how lovely!  And then I quickly come to my senses and think --- Nah!  Forget this ******!

It's cold, miserable and most of the time it's dark and dreary, and the winter months seem to go on forever.  Not to mention every time you want to leave the house you have to worry about whether the roads will be bad and then you have to bundle up like crazy.

And then there is the digging out and the high heating bills!  If someone could always take care of these issues for me, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but that's not going to happen, so --- winter is my least favorite season!

We have Christmas and that's the only real good thing about it!!!!!

I find a beauty to winter. I am never cold except changing clothes and I have a little space heater for that in my bathroom. I dress for it. Don't get me wrong I love when Spring comes around. But I enjoy the change of seasons. The quiet, still nights with the lights on inside the house doing different hobbies. But I feel for those that hate it.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

I will say I mind winter more then I used to, however, I hate heat , humidity, and bugs more. It's a trade off.

I'm the opposite but then again I live in Arizona. I hate summer. Month after month of between 100-120 degree heat with lows sometimes in the 90's. Sweat, sweat and more sweat. Get tired of wearing shorts and seeing people half naked. Getting into a 140 degree car, can't enjoy doing anything outside until from May to October. I'll take winter any time.
