@CrazyKittyLvr2 Although I don't have the fortitude to go without make-up just yet, I admire those that choose to, and the sense of liberation that undoubtedly accompanies it.👍👍 to you. Perhaps one day...😊

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I am in your boat. In my case, I've spent so much time in the sun from childhood, that there is no hope for me anymore. i gave makeup up about 5 years ago, when I realized my co-workers didn't think I was a slacker if I didn't wear makeup. Many of them don't wear it either. Besides, most makeup made my eyes water. Now I keep some eye makeup around for weddings, etc.

Not for me since I have rosacea I will be applying foundation forever...and told the husband he must put it on me if something like an emergency happens LOL!!
@tsavorite You may eventually shake that rosacea. I had rosacea after my third child was born and finally got rid of it 8 years later. I hope you have tried all of the topical prescriptions. There was one that worked for me, but I can't remember the name. Also, there are green tinted concealers to counteract the redness. You can wear them under your makeup. Yes, for rosacea you pretty much need makeup, but it should go away at some point, I think.

i tossed all my makeup in my 20s. i found that i could get away with just moisturizer, eyelash curler, concealer and lipstick. i saved on makeup and spent my money on skincare instead. haven't regretted it.

most important always wear sunscreen
I'm pale as Casper don't want to look like Dog, the Bounty Hunter.

I tossed mine too after I retired. I never thought I would go out of the house without foundation, eyeliner, etc. and I didn't for all of my adult life. But now I do. It's not that I don't care how I look, but I think i look better "natural" than I ever did with a full face of makeup. I do use eye brow pencil though since my eyebrows have disappeared with age.

Maybe it is time for me to do a purge of my makeup drawer.
I keep thinking about a recent lunch I had with a female relative who is the same age as me. I am not sure that she has looked at herself in natural sunlight after she put on her makeup. Because the only word to describe it was "odd". She put a highlighter around her eyes and it looked like silver glitter. And the foundation looked like a mask.
I haven't worn makeup since seeing her.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 Try No. 7 Airbrush Away tinted moisturizer, it's a very small tube but you just need a small amount.
I use it over sunscreen when I don't want heavier makeup. I've done one side of my face and checked my 10x mirror, what a difference, hides lines but doesn't settle in them!

Sadly I could never do this. I notice I don't wear a complete face every time I leave the house like I used to. But quit? I have no eyebrows left and my lashes are light. So I have to do something with them. And lipstick I am just compulsive about. I own well over 100 and that's with regular pruning.

Like many of you, I could never give up my make-up. I feel so much better about myself when I put color onto my face. I'm fair-skinned and I look very pale and drab without at least blush and eyebrow pencil. My daily routine even when I am only at home is foundation, blush, lipstick and mascara and eyebrow pencil. I go with eyeliner and eye shadow when I go out even if it's just to the store.
Another reason I always use make-up is so I look better for my husband. We are both retired and I wouldn't like if he decided to not shave everyday just because he no longer has to go to work. It might seem old-fashioned but we do try to look nice for each other.
Fortunately I am passed the days when we first got married and I always got up 30 minutes before him and put on my make-up so he wouldn't see me bare-faced. How many of you ladies will admit that you did that when you first were married? That's a difficult routine to keep up for 20 to 30 years. Lol!

This morning I chucked it all, except for 3 lip sticks. So it will be moisturizer and lip stick from here on out. I shudder to think how much money I just threw out.
DD asked me recently if I was going to ever wear "all this make-up that's just been sitting in the bathroom cabinet."
Surprisingly, with the exception of a lot of wasted money, it doesn't bother me. I never thought I would or could go without it.
I admire your decision. I don't use much make up any more, but it must be so freeing to do away with all of your make up.
