Re: I Am So Messed On The Days!!

@CrazyKittyLvr2   it gets worse when you retire, every day can be a weekend.

DD has been off since Wed.  I keep thinking it is Saturday, no idea why.

I watched the local weather this morning and the weekday guy was on.  I wondered why he was working on the weekend.  Duh, Jane, it's Friday.

Do you get mixed up about the days during a holiday?

@CrazyKittyLvr2

Honestly, I thought yesterday was Sunday.

I have no explanation for how I arrived at that conclusion.

@Desertdi  Having worked in retail my entire working life, I was taken aback by your post. Everyone should have Christmas off. Unless you work in a hospital where peoples lives depend on you being there.

  Christmas is on the same date every year. If a person is not prepared, oh well. They'll know better next year.

   I started my retail career in the mid 1970's. Stores weren't even open on Sundays back then. And yet we all managed to get all of our shopping done. Everyone deserves to spend the holiday with their family and loved ones.

@Desertdi grocery stores in my area of Florida have always been closed on Christmas Day. They also close early on Christmas Eve. New Year's they are open all day. Also closed on Thanksgiving Day.

The ONLY holiday I ever got off was Thanksgiving...because Thursday was my regular day off.    And, I didn't get overtime for working holidays because they were on my permanent schedule.

I am from Chicago and Los Angeles.    There were always food stores open on holidays, with limited hours, of course.

Phoenix is the first place I have enountered that passed a LAW closing all food stores.   And that was THIS YEAR.    di

@mrshckynut   I retired in 2015.  I usually don't have a problem keeping track of days.  DD works Mon thru Fri. w/weekends off.

I guess with her having off mid week upset the usual order of things.

Re: I Am So Messed On The Days!!

Welcome to my world. That happens to me all the time since I retired. Hubby works but he's an RN so some weekends he works, other weekends he doesn't. Christmas threw me off because hubby worked so it felt like Sunday to me. Yesterday I thought it was Monday until checked my calendar on my phone to see what I had scheduled and realized it was Friday, not Monday.
