@bells4me  Quite a few people prefer to stay in their houses.  They want to protect what they have.  Bailing water, etc.

I grew up in Florida.  We had several hurricanes a year and some, but never devasting damage!   Played in the water, liked them!

 

From 1992 when Andrew hit until now, storms just keep getting larger and stronger.  Helene was a monster!

 

Don't know what the cause is but sure do hope they stop!
