@SouthernBee - Glad you're OK! I've been watching The Weather Channel. It looks like the sun is out there. Georgia has really taken a beating.

@beach-mom : Thank you. Just read 11 deaths in my state including a first responder. One house in my area had a big tree fall and it covered the whole house. Lady wasn't home but her dogs were but they are ok.So many people are dealing with so much . Still praying. The rescue workers , clean up crews , etc needs prayers for strength and safety.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

25 is the death toll now, but there are people still trapped and missing. I didn't realize how huge the storm was. Big drama was seeing a TV weather guy out in the storm, when he heard a woman screaming. He dropped the mike and rescued a woman out of her car. I think the water was near the top of the woman's car. The camera was on them. He was holding on to her. I hope she's OK.

Yes wake of the storm is far from over; water is still rising in some places. My sister has a house in Lakeland and had a new roof put on a month ago but hasn't had anyone check it yet. Meanwhile I have a granddaughter who just moved to Nashville in June and she is getting buckets of rain. I know the Smokies and Appalachians will really be deluged with rain and wonder how it will be effecting the fall color and the trees. We usually travel there every fall to enjoy the colors. Keeping those who were and will be in Helene's path in my prayers.
So impressed and appreciative of those workers who came out immediately and had power restored so quickly to so many, although I know many still have no power. It is literally life-saving especially in the heat and humidity and those dependendent upon medical devices.

@LTT1 We're fine in Maryland. We dodged a big one. Once past the south, instead of continuing North East, she went North West. The only thing we got were belts of rain from the storm. The storm was so massive, she was in Tennessee while Maryland felt it. Most of the damage in the deep South. The storm is now in Tennessee and into Kentucky. But I'm sure it's been down graded.

That is so sweet of you, however, I'm actually in the Southern California Desert off of Baja California so we are not in the midst of this horrible storm. But I thank you for your kindness and prayers for all in this storm's path. ❤️

@LTT1 : Thank you. We are good. The sun has played " peek a boo" all day long, but enjoyed the cooler weather.

A big thank you for all the prayers for everyone affected by this storm in so many states!
Someone asked how the leaf viewing will be this year in Appalachia. In NC I think it will practically nonexistent. Latest updates shows major travel headaches as there are several roads across the west washed out, and a landslide took out a good portion of Interstate 40 near Tennessee/NC state line.
There is so much damage, power outages, so forth. Not as bad as Florida but tragic nonetheless.
