Is that appropriate .. ? This is serious stuff to worry about to those in the direct line of disaster..
@KKlim I'm assuming this was directed at me since it directly followed my joke back to IG and our conversation.
Please read ALL of my posts in this thread and you'll find I have been and still may be in the path of this storm and take situations like this very seriously. I have a lot of family and lived on the east coast of FL for several years. I think my post to nycgirl illustrates just that.
Normally I wouldn't respond but, as someone who has been through a very bad natural disaster, I really want to say to everyone who will probably be more affected than I will this time, please keep your sense of humor with you along with your preparations for whatever may come. It's what gets a lot of us and especially kids through the tough times in moments like this and there is nothing wrong with taking the edge off by interjecting a little levity from time to time.
The old adage of if I didn't laugh about it I would cry is a pretty good one to keep on hand. I thoroughly encourage everyone to use it.

Praying for everyone. It is supposed to be a level 3 over the Bahamas, then back up to 4 right into Florida....this is going to be bad. I bugged out for Francis, and that was nothing compared to Matthew.

My niece, who lives along the NC coast is worried about her grandmother who lives in a nursing home. Her grandmother along with some of the other residents can't be moved but the facility does have a generator.
Prayers for the elderly and young ones. ![]()

I think there's going to be a news conference about Matthew from the Rose garden soon.

I am half watching the news on "mute" and saw a shot of the podium set up in the garden and a blaring headline. "Breaking News."
