@house_cat   Thank God.  I continue to pray for the lost and unaccounted for.

Suffering from post traumatic conundrum.  So incredibly thankful for Helene's jog that took the worst of the storm to the east sparing my location but also feeling guilty for the carnage that resulted to areas to the east due to the jog.

I only lost power for about 18 hours while brother and niece did not lose power at all.  My old-fashioned POTS landline was out for one day but cell service did not return until Monday night.  Internet finally returned during the early morning hours today.

This area did experience some flooding and damage but in comparison to what was could have been and what was expected we were relatively unscathed.

All I can say is western NC will never be the same and it will be years before some areas have a sense of normalcy.

I am sincerely happy to read the posts of those that came through Helene with little damage and especially that there were no reports of serious injury or loss of life.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
