We have a hummingbird feeder on our deck. The average was two or three birds. This year there are about twelve birds. They fight over who will eat first. Dive bombing like crazy. My son came over and we watched them from our sliding door. Why so many who knows. They will be leaving soon . We may miss them.

With the storms the last couple of days, it finally cooled off enough for me to enjoy my coffee outside and to "play" with the hummers.  It was satisfying and relaxing.

@Pezzie   Oooo.   I would love to have coffee with you and help hand feed the hummers.     How miraculous.  Thank you for sharing.

Yes, when my husband was living ,he would have them sitting on his finger while he held the flower on the feeder.. their not afraid.

Awesome!! I had a hummingbird actually lick the sugar water from my fingers!! Was re- hanging the feeder after cleaning it and filling it  again and the poor little critter couldn't wait and hovered right next to my hand as the liquid had spilled out onto my fingers and down my  hand!! Was there for several seconds. This happened  out on my back deck!! Heart

@Pezzie Your little hummer is so cute!   I love the sound that their little wings make when they get that close.  I was sitting under the edge of my carport and they fly to feed above my head and they are a delight to watch.  Enjoy your visitors & thanks for posting.

Re: Hummingbird

My sister in law has   hummingbird feeders close to her back  door.  They come in so close!  They hover around.  People don't seem to bother them.....

It feels good and comforting watching them.
