Curious about what level you keep your home at?

I'm in Arizona where we don't have a humidity issue. It's dry. Never used a humidifier. Our humidity is what it is.

I keep it where I feel the most comfortable depending on the time of the year. RH inside the house should be set at a level where the outside temperature will affect it's optimum level indoors.
This chart shows recommended indoor RH levels but your personal preference may not be the same as this:

Because we heat by wood it can get very dry. We have a furnace humidifier. We have a humidifier in the bedroom. I don't know what the humidity level is. Sorry.
Sure has been cold here. We have a laundry room on the main floor and when it is very cold I try to do a few loads of laundry to put some humidity back in the house.

Never did know what the indoor humidity is, but around here it's humid year round. Right now it's 38 degrees and the humidity is 70%...close to the coast.

@goldensrbest Whatever the humidity is outside, it's what it is inside. Our home is on the coast and we have high humidity most of the time, with Santa Ana winds occasionally that bring in some dry air. I like the dry air since it's humid here most of the time.

AZ: Single digit humidity in summer, slightly higher in winter. Inside same as outside. No way to change it.

We have a whole house humidifier. I have been complaining to DH that the humidity level is much to low right now. I wonder the humidifier is even working. The reading is at 26. The outdoor temps over the last few weeks have been between somewhere in the teens to about 40.
I have a hard time sleeping since my nose keeps getting very stuffed and dry. If he can't fix it I plan on getting a small portable humidifier for the bedroom.

The humidity in my bedroom this morning was 16%. It's dry where I live in the desert but with the heat on, it becomes super dry. I have no mildew problems and my wet hair dries in an hour. It's hard to keep skin and lips moisturized.

@haddon9. I have had whole-house humidifiers in the last three homes I've owned. There's never been any indication any of them ever worked.
