Re: How you ever bought a "back-up" of something?

Yes and it can pay off.  For example, I purchased back-up yoga pants with a fold-over waist.  So glad I did because they're hard to find now.  Most have elastic and I can't wear elastic.

Same here. I hunt high and low for lounge and/or sweat or exercise pants without elastic. Seem like almost all of them have it? K-Mart years ago I had to buy woman's sweats, they were the only ones without elastic.

I bought every pair in my size(I did try them on) they had on the rack. Ended up with 8 pairs and am still wearing them now and probably last me the rest of my life. I don't get this elastic thing in pants. Buy a size that fits me, and sweats can have a rope to tie them tighter if I decide to lose weight. Crazy to me.

Re: How you ever bought a "back-up" of something?

Today I'm wearing my 1-1/4" round hoop earrings, 18KT white gold, that I purchased from the Q around 7 yrs ago at a low price. I also bought these earrings in 18KT yellow gold - and a couple of years ago while I was at home, I touched my ear and one earring was gone. I had only gone out of the house that day - once to the mailbox - and once to walk my dog a short distance. A few hours later, I walked the same routes - and could never find my earring. So - I still have one gold earring in my jewelry box - and get upset each time I see it. Wish I bought a duplicate of that pair - but at that time, never thought of it.

A couple of years ago, I saw a similar pair, 14KT gold round hoop earrings at Costco. Unfortunately, there was a little gold ball at the end of each stem - and couldn't get it thru my ears - had to return.

Yes.

1. Black pants that fit well

2. White tees

3.Shoes that were comfortable and versatile.

4. Makeup (because they always discontinue a shade that works for me. LOL)

5. Gloves

6. And now, earrings.

Just yesterday, I bought a backup pair of my favorite Skechers.  Same style, same color.  And.....two other colors of the same style!

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

If I ever could find the perfect shade of lipstick, I would buy a duplicate...or even a few tubes.

I did purchase two of the same sweater once (from QVC) in two different sizes (same color) because my weight fluctuates 10-15 pounds when I'm having a fat attack. I was just looking for the sweater last weekend, and I couldn't find either one! Woman Frustrated Maybe I should have purchased three??? Guess it's time to clean out the closets!

I don't buy back-ups of things unless it is household items such as toilet paper and toothpaste.  I do buy the same clothes in different colors sometimes though.

I used to buy backups for a few things but most times found that I didn't really need it or want it by the time I got to it.So my answer now is not anymore.

Just bought a back-up Kenmore microwave. The one I have is starting to make strange noises, and I really like it. My favorite microwave so far.

Re: How you ever bought a "back-up" of something?

I have a collection of riding boots that I'll probably never have to wear.  But I found a style/brand that I love and when the company stopped making them, I started looking on e b a y.  Whenever they come up for sale in my size, it's hard to resist.

So, yeah, I've got lots of back-ups in my favorite boot.  I've got winter lined ones and regular ones, brown and black, higher lace up and lower zipper.  You name it, I've got it.  Smiley Very Happy

I'll buy a lot of things at discount or cheap, but leather riding boots are something I won't compromise on.
