Re: How old is your cell phone?

[ Edited ]

My iphone is a 5; so I think it is at least 4 years old.

I have had to replace the speaker, and just recently

the audio started giving me trouble, so I turned the phone

off and then on, and audio seems ok.

I have a feeling within a month I am going to be upgrading.

Both of our sons have iphone X  and love them.  But they

are both techies.

My husband has an iphone 8 which seems more like what

I will probably get next.

I do like texting and basically having a computer in my purse.

I have a flip phone that is in my purse turned off. If you keep it turned off the charge lasts months.  I have it only for emergencies.  It costs $10 a month.

Re: How old is your cell phone?

I have two cell phones.  The oldest is a 2004 Nokia. I learned to text on it the old way. It’s built like a tank, and still works fine.

My newest phone is an iPhone 8 Plus that I got last year. This is my first smartphone and I only got it because my 2010 Samsung started going bad.

I keep my electronics a long time and I always get the latest model when I do replace them.

My son was just forced to retire his blackberry when they did away with 2g.   He bought it in 2001. I just went from a iPhone 6 to a 10 so not very long for me.

I have the IPhone X. Had it about a month and a half or so. I am on the iPhone Forever Plan so I get the newest one every year.

@AmericanBulldogMom

Oh my!

I thought that was a joke...but it’s a real thing!

Goggle is pointing to Sprint, yes?

I’m an ATT girl, but love the name of the plan.

@sidsmom LOL! Yes, it is a real thing and I am with Sprint. 😉

Re: How old is your cell phone?

I got the Apple 6s after it had been out a couple of months.  DD got the larger one, it broke down, so she got the 8 until the even newer one comes out this year.

I use my iPad a lot more than I use the iPhone.  We use facetime often.

I just wondered if I had the oldest phone....  It is a T Mobil prepaid phone I bought at Costco about 16 plus years ago for $79.     It is very small... and I constantly have to recharge it once a week even though I never use it.... or barely use it.

 I use it as an emergency phone  in case I am out say and my car breaks down to call AAA or the like...  and for an occasional long distance call.  It costs me $ 100 a year( $10 a month) to buy minutes which I have a million off unused, but to keep the phone working and keep the cheap plan, I have to spend $100 a year. on minutes.

I have never sent a text in my life either!  I am just not a phone person.. my husband is addicted to his. He has a real fancy phone. That is his thing... just not mine.

Anyone else have an old phone that still works like me?

@SeaMaiden

I had a very old flip phone -- Motorola -- trac phone which I purchased at Target for about $20 and had it for about 16 years.  It was very basic, no picture taking or anything.  But I am not a phone person.  So, it was fine.  I would still have it but trac phone company said I had to upgrade as this would no longer jive with their system.  They actually sent me a new phone-- a flip one --- LG - for free.  You can take pictures with it.  It says you can text with it, but it's beyond me the system it uses!  Any how --- I pay a little over $20 about every 2 months to get minutes for it and that is only to keep it active.

Me, too!  Mine is never on unless in an emergency situation!  Every where you go people ask for your cell phone.  I'm like --- nope --- never use it.
