I have never taken a selfie, and I do not ever plan to, as I will not own a cell phone and have no plans of ever owning one!

However, I don't do selfies for Facebook. My SIL has one everyday on Facebook ....she's 65 and takes photos of herself all summer long in a string bikini. LOL If I looked like her maybe I would be tempted to....she's a yoga instructor and looks phenomenal.
@Trinity11 I'm afraid you're not looking at your SIL's pictures nearly critically enough. I mean, she's 65, she must have wrinkles around her belly button, or under her knees, and I bet she dyes her hair and sometimes has roots showing. She should expect people to notice and point out these obvious flaws!
@WenGirl42No wrinkles and she goes to the same hairdresser as Kelly Ripa. Her blonde hair is flawless. I have never seen her with roots. She is one of those rare people who look better than most in Hollywood. No one points out flaws because she really does not have any....my husband thinks she airbrushes everything but I know her in person and we used to go the beach together. She is a look alike for Christie Brinkley only I think even better. My husband's family have really good genes. He can eat like a truckdriver and he still wears the same size as he did when I married him...

Never have, never will! I shy away from others taking photos so I'm not in them.

@Trinity11 Hmmmm...then she might be on the short list of people permitted to take and post selfies. I'll have to consult The Rules!

I don't know that I've ever taken a selfie. I've taken photos of DH and me or myself with friends, myself with my dog, but never of just myself.
I have no problem with people who do. It's their business, not mine. I also could not care less what the background looks like. If they have a mess around them, again, that's their concern not mine. I once posted a photo of my dog and she was lying on my bed, which was unmade. If someone had a problem with my unmade bed, tough. If they made a snarky comment about it, I'd laugh and more than likely unfriend them because a friend wouldn't do that.

Rarely. I'm just not good at it, and I always get a shot of mostly my nostrils. Nobody wants to see that. My neighbor has mastered the art form and is able to take great pictures, but to be fair, I have to use an IPad. Not as easy as an IPHONE.

If one is showing themselves off with photos of look at me, look at my hair, look at my outfit, look at my house and so on then they should make sure that their surroundings match up with their idea of delusions of perfection.
The same way someone says that a host's nail polish or hairstyle distracts them from viewing a product, that's how I view a messy background.
