Yes, you can!! And as long as you speak clearly, it's fairly accurate. You can also use it when emailing, which is great when you have a lot to say since it's difficult to type on a phone. You can also tell it who to call, who to email, who to text, etc. you can do pretty much anything via voice command.

I think you know I ain't into texting but my wife? I have yet to hear her use voice recognition to text or e-mail. she ain't into that stuff. While I did use voice recognition(Dragon)for years on my computer I decided it was better exercise for my arthritic fingers to keep on typing.

so do i. i love it!!! especially when i am in the car - NOT while driving but at a stop light or sign. i have found that as long as the radio is not on or some other noise is around that siri gets it right the first time!

I do use words like period at the end of sentence and question mark where it is appropriate. I also say space when I need to or new paragraph when I it is appropriate. I have an iphone5. My daughter has a different phone and if she says the words here they are in the text verbatim.

Once I lost the tiny stylus I clipped into my phone, I got used to voice texting. Had to stop saying " end of message" because it would spell it out!!!! Time saver!!!!!
