Re: How many items a week do you iron?

To answer the question-I also stopped ironing years ago.  I cannot even remember when.  I still have the iron and board, but they appear as relics of days gone by now. LOL

Re: How many items a week do you iron?

@september  .....  it all depends on the items I want to wear.   Some need ironing, others don't.  So the number of things I iron per week varies.

Zero. I try to buy things that do not require ironing & have a steamer.

Maybe every two-3 weeks after I have assembled enough to make the effort. When DH worked in office, I did every week.
I sometimes do his „work around house“ shirts if they are washed when I am ironing.

Re: How many items a week do you iron?

It was the first ironing I've done in a very long time, but I just ironed a silk shirt.  Wrinkles kept setting in as I moved along, so I must have ironed it about twelve times.  Can I count all of 'em?

Never iron.  Don’t even know if I still have one.

Do you think putting a wet garment on a hanger to dry ,clauses less wrinkles than putting it in the dryer?

I have tried both ,and can't see much difference

I agree.  I have also tried both.  I hang some all cotton items because I don't want them to shrink in the dryer.

Re: How many items a week do you iron?

I don't mind ironing at all.  I tend to live in my head a lot, and when I'm ironing, I use the time for thinking over a particular idea or upcoming project.  My ironing gets done effortlessly and I enjoy the dedicated quiet time to think.

I generally iron 5 to 10 items a week, mostly button-down shirts.  If I am having a particularly busy week, I'll drop everything at the dry cleaners.  Either one works for me.

By the way, I am the same way when I do the dishes.  I have a window above my sink with a gorgeous view.  There are two glass doors to my left and my right.  I will look out the window or doors, and get lost in thought, and the dishes will be in the dishwasher before I know it.

Re: How many items a week do you iron?

I don't know the number of individual items ... I go "out" at least four days a week and always run an iron over what I'm going to wear ... top, pants, scarf, jacket .... etc.  (This week is going to be busy ... I have something everyday from Tuesday through Saturday. Same next week.)

Last week, I took out my summer clothes and there are quite a few pairs of pants that need some serious ironing (cottons, linens and linen blends)..  I'll do those all at the same time and just do a touch-up when I'm going to wear them.

Also - a bunch of summer blouses that will need to be ironed ... touch-up when I wear them.

I don't mind ironing at all.
