We still use checks as well...only for water, gas, electric, and auto/home insurance...I know the dangers, but we're just old fashioned that way...and "surprise" we still use cash. LOL

I do have a debit card, but no credit cards......stay out of trouble that way.......and don't buy unless I have it to pay for immediately.....

Women? DH writes all his bills with checks. He also gets a copy back on them with his statement. My father also uses checks only for the same reason. It comes in handy when they have an issue and need to prove a payment. Some people don't have a computer or access to do certain things. A check, or cancelled check, is their salvation.

Oh my gosh.......I know it doesn't last very long.

A box of checks lasts me forever. I write two checks every six weeks or so -- the dog groomer and my hairstylist.

I have a leather checkbook that has lasted very nicely for at least 15 years so far. Still in great shape. Now that one doesn't carry a checkbook around anymore, I'm sure it will outlast me.

Last time I bought checks was over 10 years ago (two boxes) and I still have several books of those.
