WE'RE TWINS!
At least here.
I tried online payment and the dept. store made a royal mess of it, which took weeks to straighten out. I use checks, too, and have read it's safer than using a credit card.
Works for me sister.

What is this word....""Checkbook""??! Only women seem to write checks. I think the Bank should charge more for the check processing process.

Checkbook to me means the register - maybe 6 mo. due to all the debit card purchases & deposits - checks last me several years, write maybe 4 or 5 a year, when small businesses don't accept debit cards (due to the small fee).

Checks are really not any more secure than on-line or credit cards, and in some ways more vulnerable.
Even written checks are usually processed electronically. If anyone gets access to any check on your account they can easily print up their own checks and utilize your account info for on-line electronic check processing. I don't know that there are any safeguards regarding unauthorized check writing as there are with credit card purchases.
In answer to the OP, I rarely write checks and still have at least 3 pads left of my last order about 5 years ago.

Have one but don't know where it's at! Checks are not as safe as some think! You put a check in the mail or present it to a business and anyone coming in contact with it can get the check # and routing # from it and use it to purchase online or to write checks printing their own! The teller at my local bank told me that there have been many occurrences of this happening.

Same with me Preds...... Some time I use more in one month and less in the next....... I pay all my own bills by check......that's the way it will be until........
