How does QVC know how many people are on the lines ?

Just curious how David know how many people on the lines to order, but yet there’s no one at customer service. He just said there was One thousand eight people on the line to order.

Every call center has a computer system that tells them how many people are on an active call and how many calls are waiting in the queque. They know how many minutes a call was active, on hold, and if it was a hangup.

I'm surprised that many people still call in to order.

I first placed an order with qvc about 15 years ago, and it was via the website.

Guess this is a good thing or David wouldn’t have anything to say.

Re: How does QVC know how many people are on the lines ?

When I worked at the hospital switchboard, I could see what lines were in use during my shift. Part of my responsibilities was to watch for lines in use in areas that no one should have been in during the 11-7 shift.
Prior to security cameras, I had several people to send to those areas to catch the employee. Once the cameras were installed, I had the ability to see who was out of their work area.

I thought it was odd that people still call.  On-line is the way to go.

I guess the same way 'they' know what and when we're watching on TV, etc.  No need for surveys/tv poles, etc.

Ditigal programming and computers.

No such thing as privacy now-a-days.

Just think how private we were when cash only was the norm.  Nobody knew who we were, where we live, etc.

Just cash was exchanged.  Nothing else.

Oh, well.

Keep safe and as healthy as possible.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Parts of the US have extremely slow or no internet access.  So they use their phone to order.

I have relatives who don't feel comfortable ordering online. And these relatives are in their fifties.

They lie.  Woman TongueWoman LOLWoman Tongue

If all those customers are waiting and the phones are  lighting up, it is a must have item.

Neat sales tactic.
