How do you spend your evenings?

I work a 9-5 job, come home, and walk and feed my dogs. And then I am busy running errands and stuff. I don't get home again until 8-9pm.

I don't know why I am like that. Do most people come home from work and stay in? Sometimes I wonder what people do all day in their homes. It seems I'm not a homebody anymore.

Re: How do you spend your evenings?

Family dinner and table discussion, catching up on each other's day. Joint cleaning up and feeding the girls (kitties). Then mostly reading or watching a favorite TV show and planning the next day, including meals. Last night I caught up on paperwork.

There's a lot more hustle and bustle around holidays and birthdays, we go way out decorating, baking and planning activities. For us, there's a holiday every month except September, which is a good thing since we do Halloween big time and are creating for weeks.

With my husband and a good book, movie, or television program. Retirement is wonderful!

Re: How do you spend your evenings?

A lot depends on the weather and the season. We are retired now and DH doesn't drive after dark so if we go anywhere I have to drive.Generally after I clean up from dinner, we watch the evening national news then we go for our walk. When we come home from our walk we take our showers and settle in for TV or reading a book or sewing or if it is the weekend often there are activities here at the campground we may check out or just go visit with some other campers. During the week there are only a few folks here.

At home evenings are similar except the walks are longer and prettier because we can go to the beach and walk miles on the boardwalk, watching the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico never gets old.

I work 9-5 too. Except for the rare occasion, I run errands on the way home from work. When I get home I like to stay home. I save most errands for the weekend.

In the evenings, I either waste time on the internet or TV, sometimes I work on hobbies, or sometimes I work on a little part-time job I have (only about 10 hours a month). Sometimes I might even exercise.

Love to BBQ almost every evening, then sit on the deck watching the little critters and birds. My Yorkie waits for the squirrels to show up so he can pretend to catch them. Watch the sunset, then a little tv and finally it's beddy bye time. Slow and easy does it for me.

Re: How do you spend your evenings?

I leave for work at 7:40 and I get home from work around 7:30. I have a stressful job and I'm tired when I get home. Running errands after work is not on my agenda. I fix dinner or I call and have dinner delivered. I give the cat fresh water and food. I shower and change into my comfy house clothes. I eat, play on my tablet, watch a little tv, chat with hubby, lay out my outfit and my jewelry for the next day and around 10pm, I go to bed. Friday is the exception. We usually go to the Friday evening church service, we eat dinner in town and we get home around 10pm. No work the next day, so I stay up till midnight.
