Tomorrow is my birthday and DH keeps asking me what I want to do tomorrow. When I was working we got our birthdays off as a benefit so DH would take a personal day and we would go to the warehouse area of Pittsburgh and shop there all day our favorite goodies to make a sumptous meal - plus some other things like coffee they roast right there while you are shopping. And a place that makes macaroons from nothing but coconut and egg whites and they are fabulous, ands sausage directly from where it's made and aged. OMG I miss going down there and shopping all day. Especially this year Steelers are in the playoffs so there would be street vendors selling any and all Steeler stuff and really getting everyone excited. So, we can't do that here in Florida & I 'mwondering what you all like to do on your birthday if you don't have to work.

I like to spend the day cuddling with my husband, George Clooney, then going out to a sumptuous dinner.
(I can dream, can't i? LOL)
Seriously, we usually do a special king crab legs dinner and call it a day. (DH is the next best thing to George Clooney).

********************151949, if January 5th is your birthday then we share! Happy Birthday!!! A friend is taking me out to lunch this week and DH and I will have a quiet din at home. His birthday is January 2 which we celebrate with our New Years Day family dinner. Neither of us want to go out! After Christmas we want quiet!

Happy Birthday to both of you. My daughters grandmothers bday is the 5th too.
When I was younger I liked to go out and party but now that I am 45, I like a low key birthday with just family. My daughter always makes me my favorite cake which is either Tres Leches or Coconut Cake or buys them from my favorite bakery.

I love French food and there are not many French restaurants any more so I love to have a wonderful white tablecloth French dinner hopefully with crepes Suzette for dessert.

Pretty much like every other day. Do things that need to be done making sure to spend most of my day with my wife and our 8 furry kids. When she is off on a pet sitting job, which she does at the home of her clients.
I have to take over all that goes along with having 7(indoor only)felines, and our 1 Maltese mix canine. We now also have 2 outdoor felines to care for also.
Birthdays to me mean no more than any other day that I wake up. They quit being a different day for me many years ago. Now if my wife "insists" on taking me out to eat? It's about 50/50 on that one. I prefer eating in and saving the money, or her taking her mother out in my place.

Today is my birthday, but sadly I won't be spending it as I'd like. My husband usually prepares a sumptuous dinner of lobster and champagne for me and does all the cooking, cleaning up, laundry, housework, etc.
Unfortunately this may be my worst birthday in all my 69 years. I'm still sick and will be taking unpleasant lab tests today to see if I still have intestinal MRSA. Friday I see an oncologist to find out if two lesions on my spleen (found on a CT scan I had related to diagnosis of MRSA) are old benign cysts or a more serious result of the melanoma I had 15 years ago. My doctors all think it's not the worst but tell me I must make sure. So that's on my mind today.
My dog woke up this morning and a benign cyst (we had it biopsied a couple of months ago) she had on her shoulder essentially popped this morning and she woke up with blood all over the place so my husband will have to take her to the vet today. I can't go because dogs can catch MRSA and I won't handle her until I'm cleared, hopefully by the tests I take today.
If this sounds like a pity party, I suppose it is. I'm trying to think of all the good things in my life...my healthy kids and grandkids, a husband who loves me despite being hassled and harried with my illness, my 21 trips to France and fantastic vacations all over Eurooe before all their terrorist troubles started, a 93 year old mother whose mind is still sharp, but I'd feel a lot better if I got a nice birthday present of a good lab report today. I'll have to postpone my lobster and champagne dinner for awhile and settle for the Xanax my doctor gave me this week to calm me down. I shall definitely appreciate my 70th birthday, no matter what I do or what I eat, as long as it's better than this one.

Getting dressed up and having DH escort me to a fine dinner. These days, I often defer the day to Sunday.
