Cooking food that gives off a lot of steam will cause condensation on the interior walls. Add to that the food spatter and that will get super-heated on the walls during cooking which can weaken the paint. I would wipe down the condensation after it gets there, along with any food spatters and leave the door open for a short while to air it out after cooking. Make sure the oven doesn't have the exterior exhaust part restricted or blocked.

Wow - I bought my microwave back in 1988, it has a wood veneer pattern on the outside and it is still going strong!

I remember my husband was annoyed because it cost $88 and he said I would never use it.

I use it every day!  LOL

If it were me, I wouldn't use it. Never experienced that with mine but, I would be afraid to keep using it. Better safe than sorry.

I'm on my third microwave - never had peeling.  My current one is over 20 years old.

@newjersey  Call the manufacturer & report back on what they told you.

My 31 yr old Sharp microwave is still going strong.  Never heard of one peeling.   I would be really concerned as that sounds defective to me or you are using an abrasive cleaner.

if you are talking about the plastic peeling inside, then time for a new one.

buy one with a stainless steel interior and you won't have that problem again!!

Overwintering insects and other creatures are still emerging in your garden, delay spring cleanup until temperatures consistently reach 50°F at night for at least a week!!!

give nature a chance!!!!!!

Peeling?  Something is wrong.

Stop using it.  

Find the Customer Service number for the brand of microwave you have and call them TODAY.  

Seriously .... if the metal is exposed, you could have yourself a nice little explosion or some weird thing. 

Call the manufacturer.
